Meem Arafat Manab is a Lecturer (on leave) in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at BRAC University (active period: 2020-2023), where they taught several courses, including artificial intelligence, simulation and modeling, and geospatial data analysis, and managed the OSUN Science Shop programme with Central European University, European Humanities University, and American University of Central Asia. They now continue their academic career as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Doctoral Fellow at the Ontology Engineering Group, Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, researching how legal obligations can be made machine-readable without losing the objectives of the law, as part of the HARNESS Doctoral Network funded by the Horizon Europe Project.

Manab holds a European Master's in Law, Data and AI from Dublin City University and Universidad de León, and a BSc in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Dhaka. They currently also hold a Research Associate (pro bono) position at Trinity College Dublin's School of Religion, Theology and Peace Studies, and a Visiting Researcher role at IDLab, Ghent University, imec, and sit on the European Data Protection Board's Support Pool of Experts and The Copyright Society's AI Subcommittee.
