Md. Muhtasim Mahmud is currently serving as a Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at BRAC University. He joined the department as an Adjunct Lecturer in October 2024 and was appointed as a full-time Lecturer in January 2026. Prior to his academic appointment, he worked as a Student Tutor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering from 2022 to 2024, where he gained valuable teaching and mentoring experience.

He received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering from BRAC University in 2024, graduating with the Highest Distinction. Throughout his undergraduate studies, he was awarded a Merit-Based Scholarship in recognition of his outstanding academic performance. He is currently pursuing his Master of Science in Computer Science and Engineering at BRAC University, where he has completed his coursework and is conducting research for his master's thesis.

In recognition of his academic excellence, Muhtasim received the Bangladesh Police Academic Excellence Award in 2017, 2019, and 2025 for his exceptional performance in the SSC, HSC, and undergraduate examinations, respectively.

His research interests include Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Vision, Image and 3D Processing, and Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI). His current research focuses on developing explainable AI techniques to improve the transparency, interpretability, and reliability of intelligent systems.
