Shammo is a Graduate Research Assistant in the Computer Vision and Intelligent Systems (CVIS) Lab at BRAC University, supervised by Dr. Md. Ashraful Alam. He is pursuing an MSc in Computer Science and Engineering at BRAC University, where he also completed his B.Sc.

His research covers Computer Vision, Remote Sensing, and Natural Language Processing, with a focus on data efficiency and on how reliable learned models really are. His recent work applies machine learning to satellite imagery for climate and socioeconomic problems. His ongoing work also explores how neural networks generalize, using modular arithmetic as a controlled testbed. In parallel, he is working on 3D reconstruction. He has also worked on vision and language tasks for low-resource Bangla.
